Yesterday in downtown Portland where the server was hosted a power sub-station caught on fire, some 1200 gallons of mineral oil poured out and lit on fire.
The building is on the main hub of the west coast. It has 8 diesel 12,000 hp backup generators to keep all the datacenters up, however the outage was so long that they ran out of oil.
Server came back up around 4 - 5pm PST yesterday, however there were some DNS TTL issues.
Things should be resolving shortly (hense why some people can connect and some can't)
